Escrow ledger movements, reconciled daily against the PSP statement
Every payout instruction, with alerting on failures and retries
Sign-in anomalies and unusual release patterns
Database and backup health, with restores tested on a schedule

Incidents affecting payments are acknowledged within 15 minutes by the on-call engineer.

MONEY

Funds and escrow

Customer funds sit in a segregated client account at a Bank of Ghana licensed PSP — never on our own balance sheet.
Releases require an approved inspection; a dispute freezes the balance automatically.
Every ledger movement is append-only and reconciled daily against the PSP statement.

IDENTITY

Verification & access

GhanaCard identity match plus trade credential review before a profile is discoverable.
One-time codes on sign-in, and session invalidation on password or phone change.
Internal access to verification data is role-scoped and logged; reviewers see only their queue.

INFRASTRUCTURE

How the platform is built

TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, encrypted backups tested by quarterly restore.
Row-level security in the database, so a session can only read its own jobs.
Isolated staging with synthetic data — production data is never copied down.

RESPONSE

Monitoring & incidents

Alerting on failed payouts, unusual release patterns and login anomalies.
On-call rotation with a 15-minute acknowledgement target for payment incidents.
Affected users and the Data Protection Commission are notified within 72 hours of a confirmed breach.

An artisan asking for cash or a direct mobile-money transfer is outside escrow — you lose refund protection. Report it.

Never share your one-time code

Nobody from BuiltForJobs will ever ask for it, on a call or in a chat.

Approve only what you inspected

Approval releases the money. Walk the work first, and use the job thread for photos.

Check the verified badge

Verified profiles show a GhanaCard badge and a review history. No badge, no booking.
