Ghana's trades run on trust. We built the plumbing for it.
BuiltForJobs is a hyper-local marketplace for verified artisans and professionals. Every tradesperson is identity-checked against their GhanaCard, every job runs through a shared workflow, and every cedi sits in escrow until the customer approves the work.

WHY WE STARTED
Two broken promises
Ask anyone in Accra about the last electrician they hired and you will hear one of two stories: a customer who paid a deposit and never saw the artisan again, or an artisan who finished a full rewire and spent three weeks chasing the balance.
Both stories have the same root cause — nobody could verify the other side, and money moved on a handshake. In 2024 we started BuiltForJobs to close both gaps at once: verify identity before a profile goes live, and hold funds in escrow until the work is inspected and approved.
We are a small team in Accra building for the trades we grew up around. Roughly a third of the company has worked on a site, in a workshop, or behind a service counter.
How we operate
01
Verify before it is visible
No profile goes live without a GhanaCard identity match and a trade credential review. Verification is a queue with named reviewers, not an automated rubber stamp.
02
Money moves last
Funds are collected up front and held until the customer approves the work. Neither side has to trust the other's cash flow for the job to start.
03
Local by default
Distance, region, language and mobile-money reality shape every screen. We build for Accra, Kumasi and Tema first, and only generalise after.
